From a young age Brandon Shin knew he would become a stylist. After moving to New York City at age 19 he began to work with photographers and quickly learned to train his eyes to see the right style and cut for each client. Brandon was then brought on to Frederic Fekkai's team and became his right hand man working as one of the original assistant to Fekkai himself. After working with Fekkai for several years Brandon became a top senior stylist at the 5th Avenue Frederic Fekkai Salon. Creating a name for himself he became a stylist, working with top designers such as Valentino, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, DVF, Alice and Olivia, Rag and Bone, Proenza, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Missoni. Brandon also worked on editorials with Vogue magazine and was the lead on the Oprah Show. Aside from working with famous designers, Brandon also became a mentor to aspiring stylists throughout the United States. He traveled in place of Frederic to teach junior stylists about what it means to become a top stylist. His expertise in client relations and styling hair has brought him to the top of Frederic Fekkai's empire. Brandon's recognition from the Fekkai organization made him a super star within and outside of the company. With years of experience in the fashion world, Brandon has been approached by many celebrity clientele to become their styling eye. He has worked with Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Anne Hathaway, Molly Sims, Julie Chang, Lang Lang, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Rachel Ray, and Britney Spears.
Growing up splitting her time between Europe and the US , Machal has gained an excellent perception of who people are and what they want. After leaving the Aveda institute 8 years ago, Machal has been building an impressive resume and following. Having started her career at Frederic Fekkai 5th ave flagship salon and then transferred to their soho location to train under their national creative director. Machal has participated in NYFW shows such as Proenza, Rag & Bone, Marchesa and Giorgio Armani. Machal has perfected an edgy structured approach to hair while keeping things natural and effortless.
Hailing from the coast of New Hampshire, Chloë came to the city six years ago to pursue her career in the hair industry. She started her journey at Arrojo where she trained directly under Nick Arrojo himself as well as a staff of master stylists. She immediately fell in love with creating tailored looks that bring out each individuals beauty. From there she moved onto the esteemed Ted Gibson Salon where she worked directly under the man himself. She's assisted on shoots for Gotham magazine, Blackbook, O magazine, Glamour, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. She has also tousled the locks of Debra Messing, Ashley Greene, Bar Refaeli, and Chanel Iman. She has worked on NYFW for Lila Rose, Carmen Marc Valvo, Rachel Roy, and 2-xist. Whether its for a night out on the town with the girls or a red carpet event Chloë will make you feel like the spot light is directly on you.
Matthew has been a team member of Brush since its opening. Training exclusively with Brandon, Matthew has acquired extensive skills to deliver tailored styles for all types of hair textures. Always having a high level of standard, Matthew creates meticulous and chic looks that can be created effortlessly everyday. Recently, he has worked with Designer brand Armani to create hair styles for their 2013 F/W collection.
Sheila has been in the beauty industry for almost 10 years developing a wide range of cutting techniques. Her passion has allowed her to create various styles from a daring new look to a more easygoing flair. Having a strong, technical ability, Sheila has gained a loyal clientele of weekly blowouts and style for her clients. Throughout her career, she has worked with many of New York’s top stylists and most recently worked the Jason Wu fashion show for Fall 2014. Sheila has a good eye for style and beauty, as well as talent, creativity and professionalism which, when combined, leave our clients feeling beautiful and refreshed!
For Leonor, an essential part of her work is her passion for design. After being accepted to Rhode Island School of Design, she decided to focus her passion on the most essential element - making people look and feel good. Leonor attended ARROJO Cosmetology School and began her rise to the top of a new craft. Since then, she has trained extensively with some of the world's most renowned stylists and was part of the team at Frederic Fekkai 5th Avenue, where she refined her skills as a hair cutter. Leonor is an artist with technical precision and creative edge; she boasts credit for the likes of Patricia Field, Sabit NYC, Hanley and NYFW as well as collaborationg on editorials with Parsons The New School for design and has styled the tresses of some of the industry's top modelsincluding Solveig Mork Hansen and Sherry Qiu. Taking inspiration from art and fashion, she creates styles with an effortless, simplistic aesthetic that's tailored to each individual. Leonor is an avid traveler and foodie. She is always inspired by the same level of passion and creativity present in the places and cuisines she encounters. As a stylist, she has the attitude we cherish: " I get to make people feel confident and beautiful. I love my work," she says.
